I tried the Tofurkey roast for the first time last night, and I thought it was pretty good.  When I made the marinade of olive oil and soy sauce, I added poultry seasoning, which probably helped.  I also cooked it with baby carrots and wedges of onion.  I am not so amazed that I am going to eat it every week, but I thought it was pretty good...

Well, Susan, I think you may be the first relatively positive Tofurkey review I've heard. I still may try it some day, but only if I've got a back up plan for dinner :)

It's been a year since we've had one, but for what it's worth, I don't remember hating it. I think I recall wishing the texture were a little different but still liking the taste OK. In the world of vegan roasts, I do like the Celebration Field Roast (though I'd like it better with a lot less salt).

Thanks Stephanie...I've seen that brand too. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

Lauryn Phillips

It tastes like bread with meat sauce. But it is good.

I've decided to go vegan for the month of September so right now I'm just nowkirg my way up to it- great idea for the slow transition. Right now it's figuring out which foods I can/can't eat that's the big problem rather than feeling deprived with not being able to eat certain foods.
