I've been a vegetarian for many years and was vegan for six.  It was a huge surprise to me when I discovered that I could actually gain weight on a vegetarian diet and I had to watch what I ate.  I find that eating healthy is sometimes more of a challenge as a vegetarian because there are  fewer options (Iike at the pub, when I end up ordering french fries, because they're vegetarian and cheap).  I'm looking forward to reading about your healthy food choices - it will give me some inspiration.


I agree that you don't automatically lose weight on a vegan diet!
