After four straight weeks with some travel, I am going to be home for the next two weeks, and I am desperately hoping to get back into shopping, cooking, juicing, smoothie-ing, and, most importantly, meal planning.
By meal planning, here's my idea; My idea would be to sit down with the many many beautiful vegan cookbooks I own, review some of the many many recipes I've earmarked, and decide to actually make them!!!
And then I would construct my shopping list. Not before going through my fridge, freezer, cupboards, and fruit/veggie baskets to make sure I discard what is no longer usable and note what I already own, so I'm not wastefully buying items sitting in my kitchen begging to be used.
Then I would go shopping. I'd stick to my list. I'd come home. I'd put all my groceries away in Stepford Wife-ian perfection.
Finally, I'd actually make ahead some great dishes to take to work for lunch each day.
Perhaps I'd cook some beans and grains, to be used in various dinner recipes throughout the week.
Well. I can't say I'm going to hit that perfectly today. I did look at at least one cookbook.
I have a mental list.
I've cleaned out my fridge and fruit/veggie baskets.
I'm off to the grocery store.
Wish me luck.
And tell me your meal planning secrets, because I feel sorely out of practice.
