Farmer's Markets should be a weekend activity for anyone who has one nearby.
They can inspire you to try new foods. For example, I never tried the following until I started going to Farmer's Market's regularly: Persimmons, Blood Oranges, Kale, Collards, Leeks, etc.
They can make you more aware of where your food comes from.
They get you out and about in the sunshine and fresh air...or today the misty cloudiness, but you know, whatevs.
The list goes on.
And sometimes, they can just inspire you with how beautiful fresh food can be. Check out this bee-yoo-tiful arugula radicchio:
