Hat tip to Treehugger for pointing me to this line of eco-friendly glasses from Moda.
According to Treehugger, the specs:
- Are made from at least 95- if not 100- percent recycled stainless steel and repurposed plastic
- Have been given an impressive Environmental Claims Validation by the independent, third-party UL Environment
- And Modo not only encourages customers to donate their old specs to developing countries, but makes it easy to do so
And at $129 a pair, they're as reasonably (or unreasonably, depending on your perspective) priced as other moderately high-end sunglasses.
I'm digging this pair, but I have a perfectly good pair of nice [i.e. not cheapie] sunglasses in my car, waiting for me to simply get a replacement screw for one of the arms, so I. Must. Refrain.:
