Another green gift guide
While I may advocate for being a savvy seasonal shopper, I must confess that I haven't really started this year...due mostly the double-time-sucks of running a start-up and planning a wedding. (Yes, thank-you notes are calling my name.)
However, I can certainly do my part and continue to point you to hip & zen style gift lists.
Like the book gift guide over at Eco-Libris.
It's a really nice and diverse list, and they'll continue to post a new book recommendation to the list every weekend. So far they have the Joy of Vegan Baking by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, which I recently bought myself. but they also have books about the economy, a book geared towards green children, and other interesting choices.
Not familiar with Eco-Libris? Well, if you're a pretty big reader, like I am, maybe you should be. You can sign up to have a tree planted for every book you read. Here's their FAQ in case you want to learn more.
I'm thinking this might be a great gift to bring to my book club meting in December...I could buy one tree per member, because you get a little sticker to put on a book per tree you donate.
Hmmm.

Elisa,
Thank you for mentioning Eco-Libris and our green gift guide for book lovers. This week we had another recommendation on a great green book - The Armchair Environmentalist by Karen Christensen.
And we'll be happy to balance out the books of your friends at the book club. I agree it would be a great green gift :-)

I highly recommend The Joy of Vegan Baking! My daughter is lactose intolerant and my husband and I are vegetarians which means everything I make is pretty much vegan. The recipes are easy and delicious. People I bake for don't miss the animal ingredients one bit!
