Why so pricy, whyyyyy?
Have you seen Charmone Shoes? Most. Adorable. Vegan. Shoes. Ever. And, unfortunately for me they may also be the Most. Expensive. Vegan. Shoes. Ever.
Before I became a veg*n I sold shoes during college and became a total shoe hound/snob...that ended when I was stuck shopping at Payless Shoe Source to get vegan shoes. I've always longed for a source for really gorgeous, non-cheap, vegan shoes. Along comes Charmone.
I mean, their mission could not be more hip & zen:
Charmoné’s mission is to create charming women’s shoes in harmony with animals, people and the environment.
They certainly have the charming thing down. And if you check out their entire mission & story page it all sounds so very good.
Only two problems:
1. I don't actually wear high heeled shoes very often...and when I do I am nearly always immediately sorry.
2. I have probably never spent $300 USD on a pair of shoes before, particularly a pair that I'll wear rarely and that will probably hurt me when I do.
Sigh. But I love them.

Great comments about Charmoné, Thanks! First, I’d like to let you and your readers know that Charmoné is coming out with very sexy and stylish flats in our Spring line. These shoes will be available in February 2007 and posted to our site www.charmoneshoes.com by the end of December.
As to our pricing- these are luxury shoes that are hand made in Italy with the highest quality microfiber Italian materials available. We only use materials that contain no PVC or animal by products. These materials are as expensive and sometimes more expensive than leather. But they are worth it! If you see the shoes close up, you’ll realize that there is a big difference between a quality hand crafted luxury shoes and discount store shoes.
As Kermit the frog said, “it’s not easy being green” but I feel that Charmoné is providing a very stylish and luxurious alternative in the marketplace and we and many other green fashion items are getting broad recognition which is good for everyone!

Thanks for stopping by Lauren.
I was really more bemoaning that I couldn't afford your very lovely shoes (right now) than implying than that your lovely shoes didn't deserve to cost what they did :)
I can't wait to see the flats!
I wonder if it would be weird if my wedding registry was for shoes!?
