It's not too often that the NY Times has an article with "New Age" in the title where they're not being mocking! But this article on the new media company, Lime, is almost respectful. Lime wants to be a multi-media purveyor of all things, well, hip & zen.
Now calling alternative medicine, psychics or even organic foods a "new age" interest? I guess I can deal with that. What I don't like is how the NY Times manages to make it sound like hybrid cars or an interest in "healthy living" also falls under the New Age. Great. You know it's not so hard to understand why the US is such a disproportionately large consumer and has such an issue with population obesity, given that we make people think they're kinda wacky and out there for caring about lower fuel emissions and healthy living!
The Lime site is not the most user-friendly yet. For example the NY Times article mentions repeatedly their focus on blogs. But they don't call them blogs. I figured out the link to click on was "Posts", but I wouldn't say it's the most intuitive naming convention, even if they decided that "blog" isn't a well-known enough word yet. Their navigation isn't really up to bloggy standards either yet. And the color scheme makes it hard to tell what's a link and what isn't. Took me forever to realize where the link to "join now" was because it didn't look like a link. I still haven't figured out whether the Lime blog provides and RSS feed, and that is pretty bad.
But nonetheless, I signed up to join their community, and I'll check back and see whether they take this "beta" site (who are they? Google?) in to the realm of 1.0.

Lime broadcasts on Sirius Radio, and hosts a good show called Beyond Organic. There must be a podcast out there on the web somewhere - worth checking out.

Good tip!
They have 6 podcasts on iTunes, although not the Organics show.

We've added new features. there's more community features. lots of video and podcasts on our site. you can listen to radio feed live there, too (if you have realmedia player). If you get echostar/dish satellite TV you can watch (ask for the lime only a la carte option if you don't want the full AT180 tier) or on certain cable systems in LA/SF and more.
