Wow. 1918 flu unveiled as bird flu!

A pretty amazing story. They exhumed someone out of ice in Alaska, plus some other fragments of the virus they had in a lab somewhere and have determined that the 1918 flu that killed tens of millions of people was an avian flu that jumped on over to humans.

Going to add fuel to the fire of those freaking out about today's avian flus.

Hopefully they will only use this info for the good. The article zap*germs points to seems to imply that it could be a case of "but in the wrong hands..."
